Family Office

Time well-spent, success well-earned. Together, let's define where your wealth meets your purpose.

We are a multi-family office

One that can support families in all of their financial needs – from the administrative burdens of daily life to the most sophisticated planning & execution. Our client families typically have investible wealth and heightened financial complexity as a result of: business ownership, private or alternative investments, generational wealth planning, philanthropic endeavors, and maintaining compliance with tax laws.

When we manage your assets, we take the following investment approach.

Our expertise includes managing your wealth, estate and income tax planning, family education, philanthropy, cash flow planning and risk management. Graypoint’s Family Office advisors are attorneys, CPAs, CFAs, and CFPs by background. Each Family Office advisor and team counsels between 8-12 families, serving as a trusted confidant.

Your family will gain an engaged advisor with deep resources and a passion to serve you.

Key Considerations When Hiring a Family Office

We believe the family office of the future plays a much larger role beyond managing a family’s balance sheet.

Financial Complexity
  • Does the portfolio include investments?
  • Do you rely upon outside staff to assist your household (e.g. childcare, property management, etc.)?
  • Is your tax planning keeping pace with the rest of your financial life?
  • Has your family taken appropriate measures to protect themselves from various risks – including cyber/technology, legal, and insurance?
  • What is the size of your family’s wealth?
  • Have you recently experienced, or are you planning for, a significant wealth event, such as selling a business, planning for an inheritance or are you contemplating retirement?
  • Are all aspects of your wealth being appropriately planned for and coordinated across all of your advisors?
  • How are financial decisions made and who bears responsibility as the gatekeeper? Is there a continuity plan?
  • Are your spouse and/or children aware of the family’s finances?
  • Who will step in?

Our Investment Philosophy

We strive to create opportunities for long-term compounding of invested capital for clients, regardless of level of wealth.

We define risk as extended or permanent loss of invested capital – not based on day-to-day market volatility.

We emphasize long-term strategic asset allocation, but also recognize the importance of near-term tactical and thematic opportunities.

We diversify for the sake of long-term growth potential, not just to minimize risk.

When appropriate for clients, we believe that non-traditional investments are powerful vehicles for compounding capital.

When evaluating asset classes and specific investment opportunities, we follow the fundamentals, not fads or news headlines.

Our differentiated approach toward investing
